Astroboy, winner 3rd season of TV5’s reality talent show Talentadong Pinoy
Daniel Darwin, also known as the 23-year-old hula hooping Astroboy, was declared winner of the third season of TV5’s reality talent show “Talentadong Pinoy,” which held its finals on May 5 and 6 at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
Astroboy won against seven other contestants: singer Ayegee and Rhyzza Rafilas, sand artist Monica Regalario, ballroom dancers Craig and Samantha Abaya-Campos, pole dancer Sustantivo, dancing group Dancing is Fun, and kundiman singer Melbellune Caluag.
Aside from receiving one million pesos in cash, Astroboy will receive a Chevrolet Cruze and a four-year college scholarship. He will also represent the country in the upcoming World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California.
The winner of this year’s “Talentadong Pinoy” was decided based on text votes and the scores given by talent scouts Nora Aunor, Judy Ann Santos, Ruffa Gutierrez, Joey De Leon, Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres, Audie Gemora, Joey Reyes, Tueday Vargas, John Lapus, K Brosas, and Jed Madela.
Meanwhile, Arnel Ignacio was named the winner of the Talentadong Pinoy 2012 celebrity edition, besting Wendy Valdez, Keanna Reeves, and Inday Garutay.
